Achievements 2024

Nutrition Talent’s Achievements in 2024!

As 2024 draws to a close, we took time to reflect on the year, to check if we stayed true to our mission of energising and empowering Nutrition Professionals, Businesses and Organisations, and to draw out the wide range of activities that kept us energised through the year. Celebrating achievement and success is important – we’d encourage you to give it a go too!

Sustainable Nutrition

It’s vital for the future of the food system that sustainability and nutrition are considered together. As nutrition professionals, we have the opportunity to positively influence and facilitate change within this space.  But we can’t know everything about another complex science immediately.  We need to support each other in new learning – your contributions to our sustainable nutrition directory will be very welcome.

Investors in the food system

Following a fascinating podcast with The Food Foundation’s Rebecca Tobi, we were intrigued by the topic of the role of investors in the food system. A key stakeholder with capital to invest, they need access to reliable and consistent data alongside transparent disclosure, and as you’d expect, have a high awareness of risk.  Do you think the food system is a risky business?

Food & Nutrition National Bioscience Research Infrastructure

Danielle attended the Food & Nutrition National Bioscience Research Infrastructure (Food & Nutrition NBRI) Stakeholder Engagement Event earlier this year. The Food & Nutrition NBRI acts as a coordinating hub for food data collection, datasets and tools used by academics, those working in industry, healthcare, government and consumers. A key part of this recent stakeholder meeting was to generate discussion on how McCance & Widdowson’s compositional dataset is currently being used. We need your support and feedback!

Empowering a healthy menopause

We support International Women’s Day, when we are encouraged to “raise awareness about discrimination” and “take action to drive gender parity”, under the hashtag #InspireInclusion. With a focus on menopause, we call for parity in gender research and targeted research in women in the menopausal age range.
