The Role
This technical role is with a leading global ingredients supplier, who provide solutions for major food and nutrition brands. As Product Formulation Manager, you will be an expert in food safety and you will be responsible for overseeing the design, scale-up, and manufacture of nutritional pre-mixes (vitamins, minerals, functional ingredients) and sports nutrition products. You will have a strong commercial mindset, working closely with the commercial team and directly with customers to ensure their briefs are scoped and then delivered in full.

You will ensure products created meet regulatory, quality and safety requirements; owning the process right from concept through to commercialisation. You will work strategically to develop and execute strategy aligned to business goals and ensure science-backed formulations are produced, using your in-depth experience of functional ingredients, including vitamin and mineral supplements.
Must Have Skills and Experience
- BSc (or higher) in Food Science, Nutrition or a relevant science subject
- 8+ years’ food/nutrition manufacturing experience, including at least 3 years in a similar management role
- Management experience
- Direct experience of premix formulations (e.g. vitamins, minerals and amino acids), sports nutrition ingredients (e.g. whey and plant proteins, creatine and electrolytes) and powder technologies
- Proven ability to produce science-based product formulations
- Experience managing the full product lifecycle
- Expertise working with commercial colleagues and customers
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
