Regulatory Affairs Specialist (Ref RA904)

The Role

This is an important regulatory role with a global ingredients and premix supplier supporting leading food, beverage, and nutrition brands. As Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you will provide regulatory guidance across food, feed and ingredients within multiple international markets, with a focus on Europe. You must therefore have in-depth knowledge and expertise in EU food regulations. You will deliver regulatory review, training and troubleshooting, while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders including authorities, consultants and professional bodies.

You will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring changes in legislation and regulatory requirements and understanding potential business impact. You will be a hands on implementer, who loves the admin side of regulatory work and has the ability to manage competing priorities. As a key part of the team, cross-functional working will be essential for example with colleagues in marketing and commercial roles.

 

Must Have Skills and Experience

  • BSc (or higher) Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology or similar subject
  • At least 5 years regulatory experience within food, feed or ingredients
  • In-depth experience with EU Food law
  • Knowledge of Allergens, REACH, Novel food, Packaging Food Contact Materials, Food Law and labelling, Feed laws and labelling, Residues and Contaminants, Natural and Botanical ingredients etc.
  • Experience with reviews including novel food status, specific application status, claims and labelling
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to identify issues and apply systematic problem-solving approaches
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong administration skills and a hands-on implementer
  • Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) desirable
